Door Off Track

This service is generally needed when the travel of a garage door is obstructed when operated with an automatic opener. This service can range in difficulty for the technician depending on the severity of the door off track. A technician will diagnose the severity of the service and determine if any parts were broken as result of the door coming off the tracks. Technicians bring all hardware parts to the jobsite and the service is usually completed in 1-2 hours.

When a garage door is off track usually one cable will be off the drum and the other cable will be on the drum, keeping the full torque on the torsion springs. The side of the door where the cable has come off of the drum will want to fall and cable that is still attached properly will want to pull the door up. This will cause the garage door to be become tilted and stuck without being in the closed position. Because of the torque on the torsion springs and complexity of the service we do not advise any homeowners to adjust or attempt to fix a garage door off track.
